Post and Bite began with Miam, an earlier and more personal piece about my grandparents and the way cooking had always been the language we shared. If food could hold that much meaning between two people, what could it hold between strangers? That question became the project.

At a time when physical closeness wasn't possible, I put out an open call for handwritten recipes and personal food memories, and the response came from over 80 countries. Each submission arrived carrying something specific: a grandmother's handwriting, a dish tied to a particular place, a tradition that had travelled across generations. I hand illustrated each postcard using details drawn directly from the submissions.

The Story Behind This Project

The aim was never just to make something beautiful but to send it back out into the world. Each postcard went back to the family who contributed it, and the project tracked how they travelled between communities. One recipe from Brittany made its way to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The project culminated in a coffee table book sent to every contributor, and a postcard set that sold beyond the original project.

"Food is never just food. It is always also a story."

Submissions from over 80 countries. A coffee table book distributed to every contributor. A postcard set sold independently. A project that started with two people in a kitchen and ended up crossing the world.
